Another issue that would definitely cause a high speed wobble is flat spots. Older tires have a harder time reforming their shape after sitting for a period of time, as the rubber is less pliable with age. Usually flat spots can be felt at very slow speeds also, such as about 20mph. Sometimes the wobble will go away as the tires heat up, but if they are that old the flats will stay. I advise you check mechanical issues such as the aforementioned trueness of the rim, and balance, before replacing the tires. But if they are cracking, it's best to slap on new rubber anyway.
