I all most forgot. A simple trick to keep someone from walking off with your side covers; is to drill a small hole on the edge somewhere, and tie wrap it to the frame. If done right you can take the cover loose, and let it hang from the tie wrap while working on the bike.

Just checking what you mean by tie wrap? as in cable ties or what?
