I would guess all his grease is solidified, what is left of it.
I would counsel putting a fork brace on the front. These bikes do not have to stiffest front ends.
If you want, you can drill the rivets on the front fender and use that brace.
Another option, depending on skill level, would be to "kong" your frame.
There are a couple links floating around here or you can google cb750 kong and you should find it.
It basically allows you to drop the seat while still keeping the rear suspension. It is pretty cool but requires frame hacking of course.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
