I use synthetic dot4 fluid. Been working good for quite a while now.
I also got a braided line from helusa.com It was awesome quality and I was able to get the line and fittings in what ever color I wanted, well to an extent.
I used regular spray paint on mine and it worked ok, just be a little more careful. It allowed me to be cheap.
