What about the handle bars, i need to take them off too?

You must remove the little hose first. Just be sure to remove the end with the swivel fitting first. If, you don't the hose will twist up. Then, you need to remove the top caps off the forks. After that the easy way to proceed is to remove the top triple tree, and the headlight ears will slide right up.
