Almost all together. Do I need to put gas in carb?

1978 Honda CB750k
I have her all back together (after taking engine out, new rings, camchain, etc) and have a question. Do i need to fill the carbs up with gas at all, or does that simply happen when I reinstall the gas tank????  Thanks!
