I'm actually experiencing this popping noise as well. I assumed it had to do with the carbs since I increased the main jets after moving to pods.  

I also am having that crappy issue when starting the bike. Im not really sure what it is. From what I've read it's a number of things. Starter, rectifier etc.  I'm not sure if my battery drains quickly per se'  but I do know that I have like 2 or 3 chances of starting the bike with the push start before the bike starts to be unresponsive so I turn to my kick start very fast.  have you solved that issue and how so exactly?
