Why are you upgrading the coils?

There are GM coils, supposedly available for $15 each, which will work on CB's.  It is also possible to upgrade to NGK Iridium spark plugs ($8 each, or $32 for a set of four), which will fire perfectly with the OEM coils (upgraded my '79 CB750K a couple of years ago:  after 5,000 miles, bike still starts instantly, if there is gas in the carbs -- original coils, wires, etc., cheap, and easy, with fantastic results).  Just curious.  Cheers!
