Armored jackets are great on the bike, in riding position, but walking around in them, is another matter...  Our riding jackets have elbow, shoulder, and back, armor.  They are wonderful on the bikes, but walking around, upright, the armor is not much fun after a while.  We tolerate it, though, as we don't have room on the bike for another jacket, when we tour.  Just an FYI.  Cheers!
