Thanks guys,
I'm going to get new pads. Any idea how much they are from Honda? Not sure if I should get them from there or if its worth driving 45min to get then from siriusconinc.com.

If I need to file them down so they're flat then there won't be enough left for then to last very long.

I'm with Tools on this one, if you have alot of pad left go for it.  I have done this on my shadow and I'm still running them 2yrs later, totally safe.
