Hey all! I am new to the forum, but am not new to owning a 750. I bought an '81 CB750C seven years ago as my first bike - it was actually a lot of my friend's first bike, too. Anyhow, sadly enough, between two deployments, and storing it at different locations, it has fallen into a sad state of disrepair.
And so the fun part begins! As winter rapidly approaches I have rearranged my garage by putting the '08 Daytona away, and brought forth the Honda. Time for a winter project!
So with that being said, I'll dive right into my first few (of what I am sure will be hundreds) questions. I am planning on replacing the stock airbox with K&N Universal Round Straight Clamp-On Motorcycle Air Filters. I have measured out the flange ID, and I believe it came out to be right at 52mm. Does anybody with these have any input on the matter? Oh yes, I am also running the stock carbs. Another thing that I would like to find out is what the maximum length is that will fit under there with the airbox removed. K&N has three options for this: 4", 5", and 6"... I'd love to get the 6" under there, but I don't have the measurement... (Oh yes, as an important side note, that bike has been completely torn down already.) So, again, if anyone has any experience with this, I would love the feedback.
One more question and I'll be done. I am planning on getting the Accel Super Coil Kit. Does anyone out there know off the top of their head if I need to 0.7 Ohms or the 3.0 Ohms set?
I will take any thrashing that is rightly reserved for me if I missed something while I was trying to find the answers.
Thank you all very much for reading, and I look forward to contributing to this community!
