yeah tools driving the old plug into the head was going to be a last option but i would do it if I had too.

but..... being mad and having a 2 1/2 pound hammer works too.  I got it out and new one in doesn't look like any leaks but hard to say with coolant everywhere. now time for a coolant flush because it has a lot of water and not coolant in it.

+1 for the guys who fix their own stuff.
