I bought the bike used, so it didn't come with one. Wasn't planning on building a kit for a long trip, just wondered, with all the experience on this site from members who ride this model bike, what they found they needed to have with them for those unexpected breakdowns that happen despite routine maintenance and cautious riding.
I don't plan on doing any roadside oil changes…I don't recall saying that I was. I mention the two fuel filters, because If I happen to have to borrow a rusty gas can if I happen to run out (don't laugh, you never think it could happen to you, until it does) then I could tuck them in real quick. (my 74 has two outlets from the petcock.)
Just wanted to have a VERY basic kit on board of the most "must have" items. You know, a couple of wrenches, pliers, tape, fuses, etc.
