A big bleeding problem..

Hi, I am really having trouble bleeding my 82 750's brakes, fitted new banjos, nipples and pads. but cant seem to get any brake lever pressure, they will pump up slightly but then just go again, no air coming through now but still no brakes. I put about 4 liters trough over about 2 hours but still no good. Tools sugested bleeding from bottom up but I havent got a pump can, to do that. Never failed on brake bleeding before. Help..
