That is exactly correct.
Here are some more acronyms:
SNAFU : Situation Normal, All Fouled Up (typical response to a problem that won't resolve)
FUBAR : Fouled Up Beyond All Recognition (SNAFU, only worse and possibly unrecoverable)
TMI : Too Much Information (usually said in response to information that's just too personal)
KISMA : Kiss My Shiny Metal A$$ (favorite saying of Bender on Futurama)
Just a few of my favorites.
Any luck with resolving the brake problem, or is it FUBAR'd?
