Did you press the piston back into the caliper before installing the new pads? You need to reset it to accommodate the new pads. Remove the caliper, open the bleeder and press the piston back in. You can use a "C" clamp and the old pad to press it with if necessary. Close the bleeder and reinstall the caliper and you should be good to go.
