Those are the parts that press into the carbs to attach the rubber boots. There's another pic on the site somewhere with it assembled. They're not, unfortunately, the part that fits in the head.

I'm wondering if you couldn't just use a piece of the right size exhaust pipe to make these. Press them into the head. Use a lip roller to put a bead on there for sealing. Of course, that would cause some turbulence, not a smooth entry like a machined part. Maybe a small ring could be welded on outside the pipe to serve as a lip to aid sealing. Then the inside would still be smooth.
