I have never tried it the "traditional way".so i'm not gonna say it doesnt work.I imagine it does.I used one of those special pumps made for reverse bleeding.You can get a decent one for about $20.I did have to put a fair amount of pressure to pump it up,but not much.Pretty much all the resistance you have is the weight of the fluid in the system.If you are using one of the old school oil cans where you just click the bottom with your thumb they dont move a lot of product.I think the oil can pump that Tools is using must be the style with the trigger.They shoot a pretty decent stream.But if yours is squirting around the bleeder volume must not be your issue.I would double check for blockages,make sure the hose youre using is good and tight and try again.JMO
