Everyone did not answer your question.
The answer is YES, both holes in the master cylinder resevoir MUST be open.
The large one will be open because its, well large.
The other one must be open but is a very small hole but if it is
clogged no fluid will go down the large hole.
IT is like holding your finger over the end of a drinking straw full of fluid. The fluid cannot go out until you take you finger off of the hole in the top of the straw. Same principle.
You have to get that small bleed hole open.
That is WHY you see so many posts on this forum about problems bleeding the brakes.
It is not the bleeding that is the problem .
