Are these the points you are referring to? If these are the points in question, it looks like they mate together. Note that if that nipple, top, center of the air box, Part #2, is a tube into the air box, it would supply
filtered air to the carbs.
If that is not what you are referring to, sorry. Just an edu-ma-cated guess...

Testing it with a piece of hose should be quite simple, and quick. Best of luck! Cheers!
