As far as the brake noise.I worked on that today in stages to see what one element cured it.
Made sure the plastic ring was in place correctly(it was)- no help
Beveled the edges- no help
Hack sawed a groove parallel to the ground- no help
Multiple adjustments on the caliper position- no help
Verify that the swing joint was in good shape(it was) -no help
what the heck?!?!I then got to thinking about what has changed and where the new noise could have come from.The only thing other than having new pads is the fact that my old ones were saturated in brake fluid,therefore amply lubed. so...
Greased the pucks with copper anti-seize- cured! quiet as a mouse!A fair amount on the backs and a little around the edges.I'll see how long it lasts before i really call it a cure though.
Now I know that is not the best thing to have around a brake system but i didnt have any silicone grease and the closest jug is in town 30 miles away so...but it worked.Plus,i couldnt stand the thought of driving 30 miles with that noise
