My buddy that has the CB 750 that I put duel disc breaks on, came by yesterday, and asked if I wanted to ride along with him to a motorcycle salvage yard. I thought great, I could pick up some carbs, for the KZ 750. When we walked in I asked about carbs. The guy said "yea I have those $175.00" I was really surprised. He said to look on the shelf in the back room. My buddy quickly went back, and pointed out a shelf stacked with all kinds of carbs, parts to carbs, and assorted break parts. Nothing was labeled. I told my buddy at $175.00 they could keep their carbs. He then wanted to walk around. There were bikes shoved together in some places, and thrown about in others. All most all of them had missing spark plugs, and were being use as water containers. Once good gas tanks were laying in the mud. I saw the remnants of several CB 450 Black Bombers, and 305 Dreams laying about. Even a 305 Super Hawk. There were also several Kawasaki H-1 strewn about. Piles of exhausts, and wheels. Again nothing marked. I found a CB 750 with a very nice chrome front wheel. I asked about it. $100.00 was the answer. I was thinking maybe $50.00. Any way my buddy spotted an oil cooler, and got the idea of putting one on his bike. We found one on a CB 900 that was all there. After some work we got it off the bike. The oil filter bolt was all buggered up, and took a big pair of vice grips to get off. Anyway we got the oil cooler, and all the related parts off, and took them up to the counter. The guy wanted $75.00, for it. I was thinking $40.00 or $50.00. My buddy went on, and bought it. The place had some neat stuff, but the guy priced me right out. I'll stick with ebay.
