I went with an inline fuel filter, inserted in the fuel line after the petcock (the clear, paper element types, are best -- easy to know when to change them).  Only cost a few dollars, check your local auto parts stores.  The screen filter that juts up into the tank was gone when I bought my bike, and I could not find one online.  This was the easier, less expensive way to go.  Cheers!
