An easy to do this is with a tee fitting where the original oil pressure switch is.  Plug in the tee, then plug in the oil pressure switch, then plug in the sensor/takeoff for the oil pressure gauge.  I like the idea of an idiot light, just in case the gauge doesn't get checked all the time.
