best place to take oil temperature

I am going to mount an oil temp gauge on my bike.Where is the best place to  put the sending unit? I'm sure that the factory location of where the oil switch is now will work fine,but I cant hide it if I put it there.I thought about tee-ing in with the oil pressure gauge I have,but it would be even more noticeable there and I doubt the oil circulates enough thru that line to give an accurate reading. Is there any other plugs that access the oil galleries in this motor,or should I just go with removing the oil switch and use that hole?

Also,where the oil switch goes in,is that 1/8" NPT? It looks like it,but cant really tell.Just want to get all my ducks in a row before I pull anything apart. Thanks
