When you combine the exhaust pipes together (header)the exhaust pulses combine,cancel each other out and smooth out the exhaust note.Just how you can take a single tail pipe car and put duals on it and it sounds more aggressive. If you want to make it crackle remove back pressure.If you wan to make it loud run a small diameter pipe. I race with a guy that has a roadster with a flat head ford on it.His zoomies are made of only1" diameter tubing.It is literally PAINFULLY loud.
