Thats kinda what I thought too Rerun. I just installed them with the factory gap. Never measured it. Looked to fragile.It looks more like a light bulb filament than a plug electrode!
My bike has an electronic ignition on it and always seems to start well,so I cant speak on that. The idle with the engine cold was much more stable.Power below 3000 rpms is much smoother,but i wouldn't say that it was an actual huge HP gain.Just smoother. You can lug the bike around at 1000-1500 rpms and tell a noticeable difference in power in that situation.Power from 3000-6000 seemed same as before.Power from 6000+ seemed to be equal power,but the engine feels/sounds noticeably smoother. I'm happy with them.Fuel mileage yet to be determined.
