Bosco,it was not mentioned in this thread but my bike does have an additional fork brace.Thank you for the suggestion all the same.
Re-run- all the rubber bits have been removed
After the checks y'all told me to do the bike seems to be ok. The wobbles weren't extremely severe or prolonged. More than likely it was a road surface that caused it. Hopefully a steering damper will be the cure.
