runnin lean...

should i screw the air screws a bit in or a bit out? i cant find a definitive answer for this anywhere, and i cant get my bike running a good enough mixture for it to idle for me to set the screws properly with a tach.

(my question is: which way do i turn the air screws to make my mixture more rich?)
