Squeaky brakes

Did anyone else ever run into squeaky brake pads? I put a new set on the front and when it's cool out the squeak and squeal every time applied. If its warm out they are quiet. I don't know if they are crystallized or what. I am going to try and buff them up on the belt sander to see if that helps. I forget the brand name of them now.
