Have you replaced the fork fluid? If there is a difference in levels, or if one side's fluid is more worn than the other, it could explain the issue. Check the fork seals, as they commonly fail, leaking fluid, causing an imbalance.
Check the spoke tension, both sides. If some are loose, it can deform/destabilize the wheel as it spins.
As your bike is 37 years old, it could, very likely, be worn fork springs. I'd recommend Progressive Fork Springs, and Progressive 412 Rear Shocks. Not the most expensive, not the least. The improvement in ride, and traction control, is considerable. They're worth every penny. Cheers!
