Here's my 1981 CB 750K:

Here's the 1978 CB 750K:

That's a 15% increase in horsepower. That is fairly significant.
You also have to account for the the 81 being 564 pounds wet and the 78 551, but that is only a 2% increase in weight.
Of course, modding will get you a lot more and it's all about how much money you want to spend. If you really want to go fast get a ZX14 with 192 HP
