That's a 15% increase in horsepower.  That is fairly significant.

You also have to account for the the 81 being 564 pounds wet and the 78 551, but that is only a 2% increase in weight.

Of course, modding will get you a lot more and it's all about how much money you want to spend.  If you really want to go fast get a ZX14 with 192 HP
              81 d.o.h.c. only 4 hp.diff.then a s.o.h.c. 1977 F2(73hp.),See what A good / diff.head job could do ?
