Resource Hog means it takes a lot of resources (memory, CPU, etc) to run. Norton has gotten A LOT better in the last 2 years though. I used to use it, but it expired and I got some free stuff instead.
At work, we use Malwarebytes. Good stuff.
http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.htmlIt DOES have a free version, and it's awesome. Don't feel as though you've gotta buy it.
AVG is decent as well. However, DO. NOT. RUN. THEM. AT. THE. SAME. TIME. Their heuristics (what finds viruses before there's a signature for 'em) will detect them in memory and delete them. You can have them installed but DON'T run AVG and Malwarebytes at the same time.
Essentially, each loads up in RAM (Random-Access Memory; the stuff that actually runs the computer) and they detect each other. And then they both crash. Shitty and bad.
No cliffs. Entire message is important.
Turbos, Hondas, 4-bangers, what could go wrong?

Shiny: [...] Considering the weather you've had to put up with I'd say you get an Iron Butt award and a Frozen Nipple trophy to go along with it. First time I've ever posted the word nipple... it ends here.
