Glass beading is just a faster,easier way to clean the head for the machinist versus using solvents. It sounds exotic to some,so some shops will charge accordingly. If you are a machinist rebuilding a head then the task of cleaning it is on you. It's just something you gotta do so why charge the customer for it? Its more or less just bragging rights for the customer,though.Either it was cleaned or it wasnt.How doesnt really matter much. Glass beading aluminum does leave a very nice smooth finish,though. As long as the glass bead is still fairly healthy and not just a hopper full of shards. I would do it if I had the chance,but I wouldn't pat any extra for it.
