I don't have a lot of experience with motorcycle wheels, but if it was a bent rim I would want to be damn sure it was safe.

Bikes aren't the same as cars.  You only have two wheels and no roll cage.  I wouldn't mess with sub par wheels/tires.  Losing control due to a blowout at 100 kph is not something I ever want to deal with.
