I really don't want to seperate the cases. So I have been slowly going around the engine and inspecting my cases/covers for leaks. About a month ago I thought I had a bad oil seal under the sproket. After cleaning it up It is not leaking but the sprocket oiler and years of neglect are the problem here.
I looked under neath my dipstick cover and there is an old leak coming from under the cover which I found out is the oil pump housing. So I took the cover off not realizing that they use 1 gasket for the oil pump and the cover. After removing the cover I had to remove the oil pump.
I have been reading a lot of how to's and they all say stuff a rag in the oil ports before you start cleaning. So I did and got a little too ambitious. I accidently pushed a balled up paper towel from the oil pump port all the way to the oil pan

who does that?
The more I futzed to get the paper towel out the further it went in until bam it's in the oil pan (It think) looks like I'll be at least be removing the oil pan.
