I'm trying to set points gap on my 1971 (or 72?) CB750. I'm following procedure in the Clymer manual. It shows lining up the "F" mark to get the gap to the widest open position. I set gap at .012 at that point, but noticed when I turn the crank clockwise from there, the gap opens wider. Is that a problem? Another related question, is it correct to assume that 180 degrees from where the points are open widest, they should be closed? Finally, does the spark fire when the points gap is open, or closed? This started when I figured out I wasn't getting spark at 1 & 4, I then noticed that the points for 1&4 looked like they weren't opening (so I'm hoping that spark is created when they are opened).
