Fuel line connections

Hi guys,
Just in the process of putting my bike back together and I'm a little confused about the fuel line connections. The FSM shows a tee connector between carbs 1 & 2 and another between 2 & 3 with the fuel hose connected to the 2-3 tee. Can't find anywhere to tell me what's connected to the 1-2 tee.

When I took the bike apart, the hose connected to 2-3 was just lying in top of the cam cover and the fuel input was connected to the 1-2 tee.

Can anyone tell me where the fuel hose is supposed to go and WTF is connected to the other tee?
