Got pictures? Bike model(C, F, K, autotragic, etc)/year?
There is a vent that also goes between the various bowls; this is so the bowls see atmospheric pressure - without it, it could create a pressure bubble and starve your bowls of fuel. Remember, to add something (fuel) you must remove something (air). So it's gotta have a T in there for the venting.
Get us some pictures and we'll look at it.
