A lot of carbon on spark plugs. How to fix?

I just changed my spark plugs and all except #1 had a lot of carbon buildup.  These spark plugs did 4500 miles.  Is there anything I can do with the carb adjuster screws to fix this or am I screwed until I get my carbs redone because my floats are not working?
