actually Slinger,

The bolt is ok (although it did cause the original problem) the receiver is what got messed up a bit.
I will retap it cleanly once  I find a tap that big. It looks like an M20 so buying one would be a bit pricey for a 1 time fix. I'm sure I can get my kid to do it in shop at school next year.
