Ebay usually has plenty of jets for sale.If you look around enough you can find some pretty good prices on them,some of the prices are just crazy. I have never worked on a 550 so I cant help with jet sizing there,but I can tell you this. My bike (750) was sputtering and 5k also and I ended up increasing my jets from 105's to 120's on the mains,and from 38's to 42's on the pilot jets. If you only jet up the mains you will have issues at low rpms and off-idle. You need to tune the pilot jets,too.  Sorry I couldn't help more.
