I was originally thinking about doing this but was not sure if it was 'proper' with clip-ons.  The bike is wide for me and and wanted to lower it about 1" so I can flat foot but did not like the look of the 1" of fork sticking up.  This is a good way to disguise it.  If you're still on, how is this working out?  Any problems with the clip-ons in this location?
