Fuse/Power help

Hey there,

Got a 78 750SS a few months ago.  This is my first bike so I really don't know anything yet, so my apologies if I sound dumb at all.  First off I'd like to say this forum has been great to read for the few small problems I've already encountered.  The most recent problem I'm stuck on and would greatly appreciate some help.

A couple days ago I got done riding, parked the bike and went to bed.  Next day I turned the key to on and nothing.  No lights, horn, etc.  Just bought a new battery about a month ago but I checked it anyway.  Good read.  12+ volts.  At this point from what I've read my problem is likely to be a blown fuse or maybe some kind of wiring issue.  I've been reading the repair manual and looking at the wiring diagram but I'm pretty lost.  

Should I check the fuse with a multimeter? if so how would I do that?

Any other ideas and help, again, would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks guys.
