Well it IS actually partly true. The f2/3 does have a more aggressive valve angle and they CAN wear faster but it depends in many cases on how it was ridden. If it was rodded a lot, then there is a good chance the guides are suffering more wear. If the bike had routine maintenance done, it is probably fine, But a quick compression check would reveal if this is the case.
It isn't a deal breaker by any means though unless the valves are really slopped out.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
