exhaust compatibility

Hey all,

I just bought a series II (79-82) cb750F 4-2 exhaust to put on my 79K limited. The previous owner was a honda mechanic and said that they had been previously mounted on a 79K. The right side fits on perfectly but when I tried to put the left side on, the inner pipe hits against the oil pan such that the left side can't be installed. By your knowledge, do the DOHC F exhausts interchange with the DOHC K's? Or am I just doing something wrong? Anyone have experience with this?
