I found one on ebay and got it. What you're saying makes sense, its in the name "Constant Velocity". When the air box is installed it provides a steady and and consistent flow of air for the "Constant Velocity" Carbs to function because there is no interference from outside the box . I am assuming they work best when supplied with an intake that has constant flow. Any speed over 30 would probably force air into the Carbs leaning out the mix and effing up ur performance. Right?

It has Constant Velocity Keihin carbs -- it is well accepted that these CV carbs can NOT be made to work with pods, period.  This is from the experts from the www.cb750c.com forum.

Check e-Bay, and any local sources, for an OEM air box.  To improve air flow, try an oiled, foam filter (UNI), or a K&N filter (I installed one a few years ago, like it, but no facts to back up 'improved' performance, just my butt-dyno).  Cheers!
