Thanks, Ribs! I can't believe I got such a great deal. I was looking at one on CL a few months back that was a '76 in "Sulfer Yellow." It looked pretty decent, but the guy was somewhat squirly on the title issue. I could've picked it up for $100 cheaper than this one, but it wasn't in nearly as good a shape and it probably would've ended-up being a stolen bike.
They guy who owned this bike is a Police Officer (detective), so the title is not at all an issue, thankfully!
One thing I think may be a good thing is that the first owner (I'll be the third) had the bike decked-out for touring. In a stereotypical world, I would be inclined to believe that that means the bike wasn't "hot-rodded" much. Could be wrong, but I'm hoping so, anyway.
TOOLS, let me get back with you on the side covers. There's a guy I contacted before I posted who has some aftermarket plastic and I sent him an email. I'll wait to see what he has (not sure if he has 'em in stock or not, yet), and if that falls through, I'll buy yours. I sure appreciate it, amigo!
By the way, does anyone know where to actually get the emblems? I've found a site where you can get the tank decals (at www.knkcycles.com).
If you run around a tree at approximately 87mph, there's a very real possibility of ****ing yourself...
