All good advice and insight. The advice to step away for awhile is what I'm doing. I have another bike to ride so this is all about the build. Since I have the seat and the engine out to be worked, I need to let my budget catch up  to the project.
The advice about the engine rebuild is well taken. Every ring, seal, gaskedt, nuts, bolts and washer will be replaced
It will all get measured and milled. Valve job. And polished. I can't wait to get it back.

I am going to give the epoxy striiper a try. What brand.
